Trout Fishing Somewhere I Wasn't Supposed To Be...

A friend and I went out trout fishing just to outside on a beautiful morning. Little did we know the trout were "on fire." From the 2nd cast of the day we were catching non-stop Rainbow and Brook Trout with the occasional Brown Trout. Most were larger than 10 inches. It got to the point that the 10 inch fish were getting annoying. Great time!

  • Lol , Good to hear . why dont u just start over a new profile n move some pics from ur old one with new ones ?.. Anyway whaaa , wouldn't it be more productive to see how ppl catch them opposed to teach urself ..? To each is own tho , I aint no judge .. I don't like crowds either . I know spots up on the Ramapo n Saddle River that are pretty dead but hold fish for u trouters .. Me I'm a tried n true Bass man till I die . It's all about the fight either way ..

  • I am alive. Thanks for asking. I just have not been able to post any photos, so I stopped coming here. As far as the trout, there is a legal spot in Boonton, on the Rockaway River that is legal. If you head down there the week they stock it, there are a mess of trout. Like I said, I am still learning how to catch trout. So I stick to the places I am not supposed to be to learn how to catch them.

  • Thanks that info helped, I went on 3 frustrating trout fishing trips and one I lost a good lure

  • Parts of Pequonnock River are Private , check ur regulations before u venture off . John u still alive man ? thought u left ...

  • What I mean is it was fished out because it was stocked locally

  • Sorry to bother you with questions but catching a trout in NJ is really hard especially since some people catch them as their stocked, no joke on 10/12 a place was stocked with trout and yesterday it was fished out, I think the reason was it was stocked, anyways is this spot you're talking about local, and if you don't know what I mean, were there any people there when u went fishing?

  • Sorry cougar318, I haven't been on here for a while. It is definitely stocked. The only place I know of with both wild and stocked trout is the Pequannock River. If you are near North Jersey, I can share a few really good bass spots, but I am still learning to fish for trout...
