St. John River Fishing

I went on my yearly trip to Stockholm, Maine to visit family and friends. My friend and I worked out a day to go fishing on the St. John for smallies and muskies. My friend is a professional guide for Moose Country Guide Service Stockholm, ME. We got his boat on the river at about 7:30 am and went to a spot to try for smallmouth. The spot was an old cement structure just a little bit beyond the railroad bridge. My friend has caught bass up to 18-19 inches here. I used a red and brown Texas rigged Gary Yamamoto worm. On about the 5th or 6th cast, I hooked a smallie that jumped twice before I flipped him into the boat. He was 11 inches long, not a bad bass. We had several more bites, but we missed them all. After the bite died, we rigged up muskie lures to troll for muskies. We trolled all day, but no such luck. The muskie isn't called the "fish of 10000 casts" for nothing, lol. So if you ever come up to Stockholm, definitely look up Moose Country Guide Service.
