Located in the extreme northern part of NH, Second Connecticut Lake offers good Trout and Salmon fishing. It's waters are mostly devoid of vegetation. It's 11 miles of shoreline are almost totally wooded. The lake is deep enough to offer good fishing even in summer. Ice-out occurs around mid-May, the best time to fish the lake for Trout and Salmon because they can be taken close to the surface and on light tackle. Because the lake was created for hydro-electric power, the water fluctuates, but fishing remains excellent. Boats can be launched at a site off Rt. 3 and Idlewild Rd.
