Pine River Pond was formed when a dam was placed on Pine River. Although Pine River is noted as being a top notch Brook Trout stream, the pond is probably 1 of the best Chain Pickerel ponds in the state. The best fishing is found in the lower eastern portion of the pond. Although Pickerel may be taken by many means, slowly trolled lures have been successful on this pond. Chain Pickerel up to 3 feet long and weighing 6-7 pounds have been caught here. Smallmouth Bass fishing is also excellent along the wooded shorelines. Currently there is no public access points.
Pine River Pond is a 570-acre (2.3 km2)[1] lake located in Carroll County in eastern New Hampshire, United States, in the town of Wakefield. Its outlet is the Pine River, which flows northwest to Ossipee Lake.
