Nubanusit Lake and Spoonwood Lake are seperated by only the Spoonwood Dam. These 2 bodies of water offer excellent Trout fishing. Spoonwood is a designated Trout water, which opens each year on the fourth saturday of April. Nubanusit offers a nice change of pace from the lakes region and northern NH fishing grounds. The shoreline of Nubanusit is only moderately developed and heavily wooded. Cabot Island is owned by Keene State College. Access may be made with car-top boats or canoes at a public boat launch in Hancock. You must carry boats and canoes over the dam.
