Lovell Lake provides some fair Rainbow Trout fishing up to the month of July, but this lake may have the best Yellow Perch fishing in NH. Anyone wishing to catch some good sized Yellow Perch, either in summer or winter should give this lake a try. There is also some good Smallmouth Bass fishing around the lakes islands. Lovell Lake is also known for some good Burbot(aka CusK) fishing. It is one of the few lakes/ponds in New Hampshire where cusk fishing devices are now allowed due to the 2009 rule change. The shoreline is heavily wooded with moderate development. The water is very clear. Average ice-out is late April.
