Lake Rico Memorial Day 2010

you'd think I'd know better than to go to an easy to get-to public lake on a major holiday, but hey, I never claimed to be a rocket scientist! LOL Despite the over-filled parking lots, massive crowds of canoers, sunbathers, families soaking crawlers for perch - not to mention the hot, clear bluebird skies - I managed to catch 2 largemouth bass in about an hour - one on the tried-n-true Senko, and another on a Rapala floating minnow. Both fish were caught near lily pads. (see pics) I got probably another half-dozen hits on a Stanley Ribbit frog in the pads - and I hooked one bass for abit - but lost it amongst the tangles of pad stems...
