Halfmoon Lake is a 282-acre water body located in Belknap County in central New Hampshire, United States, in the towns of Barnstead and Alton. The pond is part of the Suncook River watershed, flowing south to the Merrimack River. Halfmoon Lake is usually overlooked by fishermen heading for the big waters of Lake Winnipesaukee. This lake, located just off Route 28, has excellent smallmouth bass fishing, particularly in May and June. Ice-out can be expected in late April. A boys camp is located on this lake.
