First Time Solo

Well I for one find it helpful to hear/read both the good and bad of fishing so here goes. I got out on my canoe on Saturday had about a 3.5 window to fish. To bad an hour of that was waisted trying to figure how to keep the canoe on my ride (just got it after my Dad passed) and then an accident off the ramp form the highway and a log jam at the boat ramp.

Well after all the road blocks lol I should have read between the lines and went home. Fished from an alternate put in spot and tried a few points 1 with a decent drop. Then ground and pound the shallows around to the bridge. A short ride up to the nice row of docks then over to an emerging lily pad field. One last drift towards my put in spot this time fishing the break. Lures used were a big Sebile swimbait, Spinnerbait, j9 and a lizard. No taps, no misses no fish. Only thing of note today was the herring thrashing about tight to the shore. But as any one who fishes here knows, that though tempting to cast towards, has nothing to do with a game fish chasing them. They just roam in groups and spook and thrash from time to time when the get to close to shore.
