  • max i've been up there several times - prepawn and spawn. let me know if you're looking for detailed information but i can give you some very good tips. in general, i agree about the islands. the big island up north is good along with the smaller one on the way to the west. very very steep dropoffs around both.

  • Max, I vacation on Newfound every July and I have caught most of my fish around Mayhew Island. Its on the southeast side of the lake. The backside of the island is all boulders. Depth is about 15 - 20+ feet.

I've also caught fish around the 2 islands near the boat launch at wellington state park.

PM me if you need more detail.

I fish in mid July but I've had luck on deep diving cranks, tubes, craws, spinners. White tubes dipped in chatreuse die are my go to.

  • thank you very much i will deffinetly be hitting the boat dock probably right before weigh ins

  • I've caught some nice small mouth in June. On tubes!

We were backing out of the beach and I saw a
2lber swimming in front of us. Tool a cast. Caught it.
Caught some decent bass off the boat ramp dock.

It's very deep. One point it drops straight down along the road with some big boulders lined up along the shore.
    Then there's an underwater point.
That jets out into the deep water.
Right next to the those boulders.
North west cove. Shallow and weedy. Good largemouth spot. If there was largemouth in the lake.

There's a nice hump out in the middle.

    Very clear water. Beautiful lake.

I've fished it only a few times.
The area I fished was the cove area by the islands. Near the state
    Park.
