Akers Pond of Errol offers the fine combination of excellent warm-water fishing for Pickerel and cold-water fishing for Rainbow Trout, along with a healthy population of Yellow Perch and Hornpout. The pond has been raised by damming and the shallow, northern end is full of weeds and stumps. Ice-out is usually mid-April/early May. The shoreline of the pond is somewhat wooded and undeveloped. There are 2 launching sites, one is state owned and free of charge, the other is privately owned and includes gasoline and concessions.
